Jaroslav Doležel will lead the Scientific Board of Grant Agency of the Czech Republic
The Scientific Board of the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic will be led by the Head of the Olomouc Institute of Experimental Botany of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic and CRH Scientific Director Jaroslav Doležel. The Board for Research, Development and Innovations (RVVI) has suggested him for the position of the Board´s Chair together with other members of the Board. The term of office of the current Board members ends on December 22.
The RVVI, in a secret election, recommended that the Government appoint a total of 12 members of the Scientific Board of GA CR, who work in the Czech Republic and abroad, for the next term of office. In addition to plant geneticist and Česká hlava laureate Jaroslav Doležel, mathematical physicist – Pavel Exner, professor in construction and process engineering – Martin Hartl, economists – Štěpán Jurajd and Avner Shaked, chemists – Bengt Norden, Jana Roithová and Helmut Schwarz, archaeologist – Petr Sommer and physicians – Aleksi Šedo, František Štěpánek and Jiří Zeman.

Professor Doležel will replace the current Chairman of the Scientfic Board of GA CR Zdeněk Bittnar of Czech Technical University.
